Last week a tutor asked me why we tell donors exactly what a dollar buys. It's simple: you should be able to picture where your money goes.

Giving Tuesday is the one day a year we ask. Every dollar pays for the same things it always does: workbooks, tutors and the bus home.

Any amount helps, and today it counts twice. In January we'll write back and tell you what it bought.
