THE KITCHEN REVEAL
One wall down.Twice the light.
BEFORE
AFTER
Same footprint, same plumbing, a completely different room. Here's what six weeks and one non-structural wall did.
WHAT WE CHANGED, IN ORDER
Three moves
The wall came down
It was non-structural, which we confirmed before anyone picked up a hammer. The kitchen now opens straight onto the dining room.
A skylight went in
Right over the sink, where the old layout was darkest. It does more for the room than any light fitting could.
The island took the middle
Four stools, a prep sink and storage on both sides, so two people can cook at once without a dance.
“One wall changed the whole house.”
