Book preorder email template for authors
A preorder is easier to ask for when the reward is plain. The author writes to readers directly, shows the two extras they get for ordering early and hands over a code, so there is a reason to buy now rather than on launch day.
- Example subject line
- Preorder Nine Days of Rain and get the missing chapter
- Preview text
- The new novel is out in six weeks. Order now for a chapter that isn't in the final book.

What's in this template
- Title and release line over a full-width rain photo
- Personal note with the button: Preorder now
- 2 image blocks: a bonus chapter and a signed bookplate
- Reader quote in large italic type
- Rust band with a preorder code and an outline button: Preorder now
When to use it
A month or two before publication, once the cover and a preorder link exist. Offer something small for ordering early, such as a deleted scene, a signed plate or a discount code, and the code band at the bottom gives it a home.
Make it yours
- Offer a reward you can really deliver, and say when it arrives.
- Change the code to your own, and say when it stops working.
- Pick a dark, moody photo for the title so the white type stays readable.
