Why people look for a BigMailer alternative
The real starting price is easy to miss
The pricing page shows $7.50 per 5,000 contacts. Underneath, in bold, it also says the plan starts at $30 a month. That second line is drawn by CSS rather than written into the page, so it disappears if you copy the text or use a screen reader.
The cheap plans need your own AWS
Business Lite and the free Startup plan both need your own Amazon SES account. AWS then bills you for every email on top of what BigMailer charges, and before your first campaign you'll get through SES's production access request. The plan fee buys the tool, not the sending.
The price moved this year
In March 2026 BigMailer raised Business Lite 25% and its Pro tiers 20%, and cut the sending allowance from ×12 contacts to ×10. When a tool charges by list size, the rate can change under you.

Business Lite is $7.50 per 5,000 contacts, with a $30/month floor (bigmailer.io/plans-and-pricing). It and the free Startup plan both need your own Amazon SES account, billed by AWS at $0.10 per 1,000 emails. Each row adds that sending cost to the plan fee at two campaigns a week. The send rate is our assumption, not BigMailer's, so your AWS bill will differ. EmailFig's column is the BYOS plan, since BigMailer needs AWS too.

Why does BigMailer advertise $7.50 per 5,000 contacts if the real price is higher?
$7.50 per 5,000 is real, it just isn't the whole price. Business Lite also has a $30/month floor, and below 20,000 contacts that floor is what you pay.
Is EmailFig cheaper than BigMailer?
Usually, once the floor and the Amazon SES bill are both counted. At 5,000 contacts sending twice a week, BigMailer runs about $34/month all in; EmailFig's BYOS plan is $10. We're also free up to 4,000 subscribers with no AWS account at all.
Do I need an AWS account to use BigMailer?
On the free Startup plan and Business Lite, yes. Both require connecting your own Amazon SES account, billed separately from BigMailer's plan fee. Business Pro and Agency Pro include sending instead.
Does EmailFig support multiple client brands like BigMailer does?
Yes. One login runs a client account per customer, each with its own lists, campaigns and sending. Email us to switch it on. We don't do white labelling, though.
Can I move my BigMailer lists to EmailFig?
Yes. Export each brand's contacts as CSV and import into EmailFig. Export BigMailer's bounced and complained addresses too, and import them as suppressions so nobody who opted out gets mailed again.
