Nonprofit donation appeal letter email template
An appeal works when a gift has a size you can picture. This letter opens with what $25 buys, tells one family's story in the director's own voice, and lays out three gift levels so donors can pick an amount before they reach the button.

What's in this template
- Huge $25 headline: ten meals, with a one-line note
- Photo of volunteers at a distribution table
- Letter from the director with name, role and photo, telling one story
- 3 gift levels ($10, $25, $50), each with what it provides

When to use it
At year end, or after a news story or a surge in need, when your director can speak plainly to supporters. Food banks, shelters and animal rescues can all use it, as can any charity that can say what a gift buys.
Make it yours
- Replace each gift amount with a cost you can really stand behind.
- Tell one true story from this month, with permission and no identifying detail.
- Sign it from your director and keep the postscript for the smallest gift.
