Your monthly email allowance

Billing & plansUpdated

How many campaign emails your plan can send each month: 10,000 on the free plan, 10 times your contact limit on a paid plan, and no limit on BYOS.

Every plan on platform sending comes with a monthly email allowance:

  • Free plan: 10,000 emails a month.
  • Paid plans: 10 times your plan’s contact limit. A 500-contact plan can send 5,000 emails a month; a 5,000-contact plan can send 50,000.
  • BYOS: no allowance. You can send as much as your own Amazon SES account allows.

Each campaign email counts once per recipient. Test sends and automation emails don’t count. If you cancel a campaign before it starts sending, it doesn’t count; if you cancel part-way, the emails already sent do.

See how much you’ve used

Go to Settings → Plan & billing. Your plan card shows Emails this month and the date your allowance resets. On a paid plan it resets at the start of each billing period; on the free plan, on the same date each month.

When you reach 80%, we email you to let you know. Nothing is blocked at that point.

When a campaign doesn’t fit

If a campaign needs more emails than you have left, the Review step shows it under What’s left, for example: “This campaign needs 6,000 emails. You have 2,500 left this month”. You can’t send it now, but you have two options:

  • Schedule it for after your allowance resets. Click Send or schedule…. The dialog opens on Later, and you can pick any time after the reset date.
  • Upgrade your plan. A plan with a bigger allowance takes effect straight away. See How EmailFig pricing works.

Once you’ve used your whole allowance, Settings → Plan & billing shows “Sending is paused: you’ve used all … emails this month.” On the free plan the banner has an Upgrade button. On a paid plan it gives the date your allowance resets, and Contact us if you need more before then. If you’re also over your plan’s contact limit, it offers Upgrade to the plan that fits instead.

Auto-upgrade only looks at your contact count, so running out of emails never moves you to a bigger plan on its own.

Scheduled campaigns

A campaign scheduled before your allowance resets has to fit in what’s left when you schedule it. A campaign scheduled after the reset is checked again when its time comes. If it doesn’t fit then, it goes back to your drafts without sending, and we email you so you can upgrade or reschedule.
