Publish, pause or archive a form

Forms & landing pagesUpdated

Every form moves through three stages: draft, live and archived. How to move it, and why deleting only works before the first signup.

Every form, embed or landing page, moves through the same three statuses: draft, live, and archived. The verbs differ by kind (a landing page publishes, an embedded form goes live), but it works the same way either way.

Draft

A new form starts as a draft: not reachable by visitors, with its embed code, hosted URL, or page link returning “not available” until you publish it. Edit it freely.

Go live / Publish

On an embedded form, click Go live; on a landing page, Publish. Either one saves any unsaved changes first, then makes the form public: its embed, hosted page, or page URL start accepting real signups immediately.

If the form’s list uses double opt-in and your account can’t yet send confirmation emails, going live is refused; see Why my double opt-in form won’t go live.

Pause / Unpublish

Click Pause on an embedded form, or Unpublish on a landing page, to take a live form back to draft. Visitors can no longer submit it, but nothing is deleted: its stats and every signup stay intact, and you can go live again whenever you’re ready.

Archive

Click Archive to retire a form for good. Its page and embeds stop accepting new signups, but its stats and consent history stay as they are. Use Restore on the Grow hub’s archived view to bring one back to draft.

Delete only works before the first signup

A form with zero signups shows a Delete button: deleting removes it outright, since there’s nothing on record to preserve. The moment a form receives even one signup, that button disappears for good: every signup is a consent record, and EmailFig keeps it archived rather than deleted. From that point, Archive is the only way to retire the form.
