Embeds or landing pages
Two ways to collect signups: a form on your own website, or a page EmailFig hosts for you. Pick before you create one.
EmailFig gives you two kinds of signup form: an embedded form, which lives inside a page on your own website, and a landing page, a full page EmailFig hosts for you. You pick the kind on the What are you creating? screen when you create the form (Create new on Grow), and it can’t be changed afterwards, so pick the right one.
What each one is
An embedded form is a fragment: a field or two and a button that sit inside a page you already have. You add it with a JavaScript snippet, a hosted URL fallback, or raw HTML (see Add a form to your website). It renders in its own container, so your site’s styles and the form’s never collide.
A landing page is the whole page: EmailFig hosts it at its own web address, with its own design, background and layout. You don’t need a website at all; share the link directly. See Create a landing page.
Both kinds share everything that isn’t presentation: the same target list, the same consent record for every signup, the same double opt-in behaviour, the same stats, and the same draft → live → archived lifecycle described in Publish, pause or archive a form.
Which to pick
- You already have a website and want the form inside a page you control (a footer, a sidebar, a signup section): create an embed.
- You want a page you can link to directly (social bio, ad, QR code): create a landing page.
You can’t switch a form’s kind later, but on a fresh draft with no signups you can just delete it and start again with the other kind. Once a form has even one signup, EmailFig keeps it on record (see Publish, pause or archive a form), so from then switching kinds means creating a new form.
