Send a test email
How to send yourself a test of a campaign's saved content, and who you're allowed to send one to.
Send a test on the Content step sends the campaign’s last saved content, filled in with sample data, to one address you control: either a confirmed member of your account, or any address at one of your verified sending domains.
- Save your changes first. A test uses the last saved version of the campaign, not whatever’s still unsaved in the editor.
- Select Send a test in the top bar.
- Enter the Recipient address and select Send test email.
The subject line arrives with [TEST] in front, and the body uses sample data (a placeholder name, and sample values for any custom fields) in place of a real contact.
Who you can send a test to
- An address that has opted out or bounced won’t work. EmailFig refuses it with “That address has opted out or bounced, so we can’t send to it — even as a test.” Suppression is platform-wide, so it applies to tests too.
- The address has to be one you can prove you control. If it isn’t a confirmed account member or an address at one of your verified domains, EmailFig refuses it with “Test sends can only go to a confirmed account member, or to any address at one of your verified sending domains.”
- There’s no limit on tests. Send as many as you like.
