Create a welcome series from a recipe

AutomationsUpdated

Start an automation from a ready-made recipe, then point it at your own list, tag or form.

A recipe is a ready-built automation (trigger, steps, and drafted email copy) that you adopt and then point at your own list, tag or form. It’s usually faster than building from a blank flow.

  1. Open Automations from the sidebar.
  2. Click Start from a recipe (shown next to New automation when recipes are available). This opens the Start with a recipe gallery: “Proven flows, ready to make yours. You’ll pick the list it watches after.”
  3. Pick a card and click Use this. Three recipes are available:
    • Welcome series: “Say hello, then follow up three days later. The one every list should have.” (two emails)
    • Win-back: “Tag someone ‘cold’ and this reaches out gently, twice, before letting go.” (two emails)
    • After they sign up: “A thank-you from a form signup, then a tag so you know who came from where.” (one email)
  4. This creates a draft automation with the recipe’s steps and email copy filled in, and drops you into the editor.
  5. Open the Starts when card and set the trigger to your own list, tag or form. The trigger kind is fixed (a list-based recipe stays list-based); you choose which specific record.
  6. If the recipe includes a tag step, pick which tag it should use, via the same Edit step you’d use for any tag step.
  7. Review the drafted emails and edit anything: subject, preview text, from address, and body all open the normal step editor.
  8. Click Go live when it’s ready.

To start empty instead, click Start from scratch instead on the recipe gallery, or New automation from the index.

The recipe gallery: three cards, Welcome series, Win-back and After they sign up, each showing its step icons, how many emails it sends and a Use this button.
