My campaign is "in review"

CampaignsUpdated

What it means when a campaign is held for review, and what you can do while you wait.

Nothing has gone out. Now and then we hold a campaign right before it sends so a person can look at it. You don’t need to do anything: once it’s approved, it starts sending on its own and its badge changes to Sending.

We email you when a campaign is held (subject: Your campaign “…” is being reviewed). There’s no email when it’s approved; it starts sending.

While it’s held

  • Your other campaigns wait. You can’t send, schedule or resume another campaign until the review finishes. A red banner says so: “A campaign on this account is awaiting review, so no other campaign sends until it’s cleared.”
  • Automations keep running, and a campaign that was already sending carries on.
  • A scheduled campaign won’t go out. If the review is still going shortly after its send time, it goes back to draft and we email you (Your scheduled campaign “…” couldn’t be sent). Schedule it again once the review is over.
  • The held campaign can’t be edited.

A campaign's review step with a red banner reading A campaign on this account is awaiting review, so no other campaign sends until it's cleared, and the Send or schedule button greyed out at the top.

What you can do

  1. Wait. This is the right answer almost every time.
  2. Cancel it if you need your other campaigns unblocked now. Cancel is on the campaign’s page, and it lifts the block straight away.
  3. Write to us if it’s been more than a day or the send is urgent. Email contact@emailfig.com with the campaign name and the email address you sign in with.

Cancelling is final. A cancelled campaign can’t be sent. Use Duplicate on its page to make a fresh copy you can send later.

For an important launch, send it a day before you need it to land.

If it isn’t approved

The campaign moves to Failed, nothing is sent, and we email you (Your campaign “…” couldn’t be sent). Its page reads:

This campaign couldn’t be sent This campaign was blocked after a content review. If you believe that’s a mistake, contact support.

Click Revise to turn it back into a draft, edit it and try again. See Fix and resend a failed campaign. If you think the decision is wrong, email contact@emailfig.com with the campaign name.
