What every email must include

CampaignsUpdated

The two things every campaign footer needs before it can send: an unsubscribe link and your mailing address.

Every campaign needs two things in its footer before it can send: a working unsubscribe link and your organisation’s physical mailing address. Anti-spam laws like CAN-SPAM require both in every marketing email, so EmailFig checks for them before you send.

  • {{ unsubscribe_url }}: the Unsubscribe URL merge tag. Links the recipient to your unsubscribe page.
  • {{ account.physical_address }}: the Mailing address merge tag. Prints the address you’ve set for your account.

Add either from the merge tag menu in the Content step’s editor.

Where the address comes from

Go to Settings → Unsubscribes and fill in Mailing address: a street address, registered P.O. box, or private mailbox all work.

Templates from the Gallery, and a campaign you start from scratch, already have both tags in their footer. If you replace or heavily rework the footer yourself, keep both tags: deleting either one blocks sending.

If one’s missing

If either tag or the mailing address is missing, Review’s “What’s left” checklist names exactly which one. See Why the Send button is disabled.
