Bulk actions on contacts
Add, tag or delete many contacts at once from the contacts table.
On the Contacts page, tick the contacts you want, pick an action next to With selected:, and click Apply. The three actions are Add to list, Tag and Delete.
The selection is per page: the header checkbox takes the rows currently shown (25 at a time), not every contact matching your filter. Work through a filtered view page by page, or import a CSV for thousands at once. Your filters (search, list, tag, segment, status) carry through the action, so you land back on the same page.
Add contacts to a list
- Filter the table so it’s showing the people you want.
- Tick them, or use the header checkbox to take the whole page.
- Choose Add to list, pick the list from Pick a list…, and click Apply.
The count reports how many were added. Anyone already on the list isn’t counted: “Added 3 contacts” against 25 ticked rows means 22 were already there.
Tag contacts
Choose Tag, type a name into Tag name and click Apply. A tag that doesn’t exist yet is created. The count reports the taggings actually added.
Delete contacts
Choose Delete and click Apply, then confirm. The contacts leave the contacts table, your lists and your segments, and stop counting towards your plan.
Deleting does not unsubscribe them and does not add a suppression. If these people don’t want your email, use the Unsubscribe action instead, or suppress the addresses.
A deleted contact comes back if you add the same address again, with its original history and status. See Add, edit and delete contacts.
