Why my double opt-in form won't go live

Forms & landing pagesUpdated

One thing to fix: verify a sending domain and set your From email, since that's what sends the confirmation email.

If clicking Go live (or Publish) shows “Saved, but not live yet: This form’s list uses double opt-in, which sends a confirmation email from your address. Verify a sending domain and set your from email in Settings first.”, your settings saved fine, the form just needs one more thing. Double opt-in emails every new signup a confirmation link from your account’s From address, so EmailFig needs a verified sending domain matching that address before the form can go live. This only happens on a double opt-in list (see Turn on double opt-in confirmation); a single opt-in form can go live with no verified domain.

Fix it

  1. Go to SettingsSending domains.
  2. Add and verify a domain you own. See Add and verify a sending domain.
  3. Under Sending defaults on the same page, set Default from email to an address on that verified domain.
  4. Return to the form and click Go live (or Publish) again.

If a live form can’t send confirmations

A form can end up live but unable to send confirmations, for example if its list is switched to double opt-in after it went live, or its verified domain later loses verification. EmailFig doesn’t take the form back to draft; instead you’ll see a Can’t confirm badge on the Grow hub and a banner on the form’s edit screen, and any new signup who needs a confirmation email is held back from subscribing until you fix it. Sort out your sending domain as above and the badge clears.
