Meet Gmail and Yahoo bulk sender requirements

Sending domains & deliverabilityUpdated

Gmail and Yahoo ask bulk senders for authentication and one-click unsubscribe. EmailFig already handles the technical side.

Gmail and Yahoo apply stricter rules to bulk senders, on top of ordinary spam filtering. EmailFig handles the technical parts, so there’s very little to do.

Authentication: SPF, DKIM and DMARC

Bulk senders must authenticate on all three. Every EmailFig sending domain generates and requires SPF, DKIM and a published DMARC policy before it can send, so there’s nothing more to set up beyond getting your domain to Verified. See The DNS records we generate.

One-click unsubscribe

Bulk senders must support one-click unsubscribe through the List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers (RFC 8058), which let Gmail and Yahoo show a native “Unsubscribe” option next to your message. EmailFig puts these on every campaign automatically, whether your account uses the simple unsubscribe page or a preference centre. There’s nothing to turn on.

Keep spam complaints low

Both providers watch how often recipients mark your mail as spam. This is what your deliverability health badge tracks, and it’s the strongest reason to send only to a list built through genuine opt-in: see Why you shouldn’t send to purchased lists.

The numeric thresholds are Google’s and Yahoo’s to set, not EmailFig’s. Check their own published requirements directly for the current numbers.
